Turnkey Design Build Construction - Seneca Wastewater Treatment Plant Generator Installation - 12600 Great Seneca Hwy Germantown, MD 20874
Cynergy Electric provided design build services for the design and construction of a 1500KW diesel generator to be used for stand-by and peak shaving during times of high electrical pricing at the Seneca WWTP in Germantown, MD for the WSSC.
The work comprises turnkey design build construction and final detail design engineering, procurement and construction of the generator and auxiliary systems. The design shall meet the latest PEPCO requirements to allow the owner to peak shave and the installation performs in accordance with the established criteria and is installed in accordance with all Federal, State and Local laws and ordnances. The generator, switchgear and main tank will be furnished by the general contractor, Nastos Construction, and installed by Cynergy. Cynergy is responsible for all design aspects of the project and has subcontracted the design to CSI Engineering, Inc. located in Beltsville, MD.
A 1500KW diesel powered generator, day tank, generator switchgear and accessories will be installed in the Tertiary building. The main 5,000 gallon tank is a UL 2085 above ground tank located outside adjacent to the generator room. The paralleling switchgear is located at substation No. 3 and was provided by JDC Power Systems of MD. The system supports all parasitic loads to support the generator and the existing UV switchgear in the Tertiary building.
The project has additional design features to support control and monitoring of selected equipment, field testing, and commissioning, training, start-up and post installation maintenance. Concrete pads and bases for the main tank and miscellaneous metals at substation No. 3 are furnished and installed by the general contractor. The project is currently in the construction phase.
